Dependent on your product, packaging, and the possibility to upgrade to full automation in the future, your powder filling machine will use a volumetric or weigh cell system to fill your container.
Semi-automatic volumetric machines are equipped with an auger or screw feeder that accurately measures and dispenses a precise amount of powder into the receptacle. The dispenser is driven by a motor that rotates it at a constant speed, while a control system regulates the amount of powder dispensed by adjusting the speed and duration of the auger rotations.
Alternatively, with a weigh cell, the packaging sits on a weighing platform whilst being filled, once the desired weight is reached, the filling stops.
Due to the semi-automatic configuration, an employee may need to manually load the containers into the machine, adjust the filling amount, and start and stop the filling process. Additionally, the auger or screw feeder that dispenses the product is usually operated by a foot pedal or is hand-switch operated by the employee.
This machine boasts a 60-litre hopper capacity with a manual or an automatic infeed chute connected to a gravity hopper or a screw conveyor. The level of product is controlled by a level probe to give reliable and accurate dose weights.
When used with rigid containers, the containers are usually capped manually afterwards, however, with flexible packaging a semi-automatic sealing machine is often required.
