Carton closers and sealers finalise the bag-in-box process by folding the top flaps shut and securing them with either glue or tape. Within a bag-in-box production line, these sit after the case erectors and fillers.

When deciding on a carton closer, there are semi and fully automatic versions. If you intend on having a full BiB line with minimal worker input, an automatic model will likely suit your operation. Automatic models can be connected with transportation equipment, e.g. conveyors, allowing seamless processing and packaging of bags in boxes from start to finish. For a more budget-friendly option, semi-automatic models can offer a step towards automation.

2 sealing methods are available here: self-adhesive tape, and hot melt glue. Hot melt glue machines heat glue pellets and use injectors to dispense the glue on top flaps, causing them to remain closed upon the fast cooling of the glue. Alternatively, adhesive tapes can be used to seal the boxes from the outside. A range of tape sizes and designs can be used to customise your box.
