Bottle Capping Machines

Bottle cap machines are used to securely seal containers with various types of caps or lids. There are several types of bottle sealing machines, including screw cappers, snap cappers, and crimp cappers, each tailored to different types of caps and closure mechanisms. Screw cappers are commonly used for plastic or metal screw-on caps, snap cappers for snap-fit lids, and crimp cappers for sealing aluminium caps on bottles. The beverage industry, which includes bottling water, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages, benefits significantly from these machines due to their high-speed capabilities and consistency, ensuring product safety and quality. Additionally, pharmaceutical and food industries also find value in bottle capping equipment to maintain product integrity and efficiency during the packaging process.

Types of Bottle Capping Systems

Rotary Bottle Capping Tighteners

Rotary bottle cap tightening machines are versatile and efficient machines designed to cap containers with a rotary mechanism. They are ideal for high-speed production lines, offering precision and reliability in securing caps onto bottles. These automatic bottle cap machines are capable of handling a variety of cap sizes and materials, making them suitable for diverse packaging needs.

Auto inline

Auto inline bottle cappers are automated systems integrated into production lines for continuous and seamless production. They are designed to seal bottles as they move along a conveyor belt, ensuring a smooth and consistent process. These automatic bottle capping machines are prized for their ability to adapt to different bottle sizes and cap types, streamlining the packaging process.

Inline cap tighteners

Inline bottle cap tightening machines are essential components of production lines, specialising in securing caps on bottles with precision. These machines work well with bottles of various shapes and sizes, providing a controlled and uniform cap sealing process. Inline cap tighteners are known for their space-efficient design and ease of integration into existing packaging systems.

What are bottle sealing machines used for?

A bottle sealing machine is used to apply a cap, or lid, to a bottle to seal it for transportation and sale. Regardless of whether the cap is made of plastic or metal, screw on lids, crown caps, snap caps or ROPP (Roll on Pilfer Proof) covers, the bottle cap machine attaches and seals the relevant cap ready for the finished object to be shipped. Bottle cap sealing machines are used extensively in the food and beverage industry to cap plastic and glass bottles. Milk, beer and wine are a few of the beverages that these systems are used to seal, as well as cooking oils and vinegars.

Likewise in the pharmaceutical, toiletry and cosmetic industries, many liquid medications are sealed and sent to consumers in either plastic or glass bottles, and bottle capping equipment will ensure the antibacterial and sterile seal of these vital liquids. Some chemical products, such as those used for cleaning or home improvement, are best sealed efficiently by a bottle sealing machine to prevent the danger of chemical burns or corrosion from the contents.

Bottle cap machines are available in manual, semi-automatic and automatic formats, where each can be connected as a part of your production line to rinsing, filling and labelling machines to create a fully automated procedure from start to finish. The bottle capping system needed, and the way of connecting it to your production line, will be as different as the commodities your company produces. However, these systems can easily be modified to fit your production processes and can vastly speed up your production as well as ensuring a professional, uniform finish within a sterile condition.

Benefits of Bottle Capping Equipment

Bottle capping equipment is integrated into production lines to vastly speed up the efficiency and output of production. Plastic and glass bottle capping machines can be easily configured to allow your production line to change the capping of different products. Changing products for alternative-sized bottles with varying threads, or sizes and types of lids, makes bottle cap closing machines an extremely flexible addition to any assembly line.

Cap sealing machines work in various ways according to the requirement of the bottle, cap or lid and the product being packaged. Some systems work by spinning the cap onto the bottle, others by pressing a snap-on, or ROPP, cap down over the bottle opening, whilst still others may place a plug or cork inside the bottle’s neck, for example, a wine bottle capping machine.

Various types of machines that can seal, rinse, and fill bottles are available depending on the requirements of the company’s production processes. Many models of our bottle capping systems can be used to seal a wide variety of bottles or other containers without any modification necessary, merely requiring reprogramming on its display. This makes them extremely versatile for companies which ship a wide selection of products. Machines can handle heat-sensitive products where necessary, too.

Some of the industries which use bottle cap sealing machines include:

  • food and beverages;
  • cleaning products;
  • pharmaceutical, medical and veterinary;
  • cosmetics and toiletries;
  • home improvement and building products for decorating;
  • and so many more.

FAQs

Contact Autopack today to discuss a service plan for your individual bottle capping machine.

Different bottle cap closing machines work in slightly different ways depending on the model. A semi-automatic bottle capper will require an operative to put the cap or seal in place for the system to complete the sealing process.

An automatic bottle capper, whether spinning the cap onto the bottle, placing a cap over the opening, or pushing a plug or cork into the neck opening will draw the bottles into the machine, seal them according to the programme and sealant, and then deliver the capped product at the end of the procedure. Some systems can repeat the process between 600 and 54,000 times every hour.
